C Red Consultancy are qualified energy assessors that can provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for your building.  The existing energy performance of the building is crucial for us to understand what is needed to be done, in order to help you be more environmentally friendly & reduce your carbon emissions & costs.  The energy rating and the recommended improvements in energy efficiency helps you to priorities the different ways of saving energy & money.  It will only take about 30mins to an hour to assess your home & it is a non-intrusive survey so we will only be looking around your house & loft, measuring and recording what we can see & not lifting floor boards or anything like that. 

What we interested in recording, of major importance to the assessment, are the:

·         Heating system, fuel type & controls

·         Ventilation

·         Thermal Insulation

·         Age & size of the property & if any extensions are present.

The assessment will take note of several other factors, in order to produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), which will complete your Home Information Pack (HIP) and enable you to either start making improvements, sell your house or rent out your home. 

Recommendations will be made in order to reduce the Carbon emissions of your property & suggestions for improvements are written on your certificates.  At C RED, we can answer any questions you may have in regards to anything on the certificate; whereby we will remain impartial & professional in assisting you fully by helping you go through the process of improving your efficiency as painless as possible, by pointing you in the right direction of the relevant expert in whatever field you are wanting to explore.  

We think some improvements make obvious economic sense, whilst others are only realistic considerations when a particular item requires replacing.  Loft insulation & hot water cylinder insulation are obvious improvement options as they are cheap to purchase, can be easily installed & save enough energy to produce real savings in less than a year.  In some areas, like people living within the Manchester City Council, grants are being provided for people over 60yrs, or on benefits, or even to families with children under 16 yrs old; whereby the home can be insulated and draught proofed for absolutely free!  Every council area is offering different levels of funding, so I cannot describe each councils green policy now, but feel free to contact us and we will be able to discuss your specific situation with you and find the right solution for your home, with knowledge of the funding available to you.   

If you want double glazing & or a replacement central heating boiler, these are improvements that cost quite a lot, so this would normally mean that they will often not be replaced unless they are broken.  Funding is available for several renewable energy developments & this is resulting in improvements in technology and further funding becoming available to install the product and at very cost effective rate, so these new renewable energy options should be considered at this time.  If you were to spend money on renewable energy products you would definitely feel the benefit during the cold winter months & with grants/funding being available too, you would also achieve real benefits to your bills and home comfort levels!  Just give us a call and we can discuss these options with you.
